Not sure about how to fix it but if you want to test your alrar,, open a window, lock the car. Wait 30 seconds for the sensors to arm then stick your arm in and wave it around. If nothing happens, your motion sensors might not be working so pull the door lock and open the door. This should set the alarm off if it is activated.

I done exactly what you said and the alarm never sounded. I now 99.99% sure the whole alarm system is off almost like its not installed at all!
There are no error messages on the display etc - where do I begin?
I've just replaced my fuse box, and that has made no difference as it wasn't working before this.

Did the alarm system ever work before? I had my alarm system disabled as a short fix when my RF receiver & BECM started playing up.
Was disabled through the dealer test-book - not sure if the faultmate can do it, am pretty sure it will be able to!
Just wondering if a previous owner had it disabled to hide RF Reciever/BECM problems?
When disabled it wouldn't flash the hazards when locking/unlocking.

it does sound as though your alarm is disabled ,when locking with a window open you should get some alarm noise to indicate a mislock
you need to get the rangie hooked up to diagnostics to see whats been disabled .
the imobiliser,alarm and flashing of indicators when locking can all be disabled in the becm settings but you need faultmate,autologic or testbook to change them
my 2000 4,6 had the indicators disabled on locking and unlocking when i first bought it so i changed it back

normally if a fuse is gone the fault will be displayed on the message centre

Looks like alarm function disabled in Becm. Will need diagnostics to confirm.
