High fellas, new to the Range Rover world and already pulling at my hair. Just purchased (3 weeks ago) a 2001 Y Reg 4.0 Thor engine Rangey. The problem I`m having is this. I lock up the car with the fob or key and leave it overnight. When I get up in the morn the battery is flat or almost flat. My neighbour has noticed that the indicators/hazards are on in the night but not flashing just permanently on. This is obviuosly whats drining the battery but it`s not all the time. It will go for days ok then out of the blue do it again. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks..

this could be a few things, one is your becm getting woken up during the night. if you parking it on your drive way, try putting it outside one night, see what happens then..

Thanks J the Range but forgot to mention it is outside on the road, same position every night. It does it some nights and not others.... Thanks..

i would still try moving it a little or parking the other way, you could take your rf ariel off. see if it make it stop..

Remove the (SINGLE) Aerial lead from the receiver behind the real panel in the boot (drivers side), this will have the effect of desensitising the RF receiver allowing it to sleep longer without getting woken up by every stray RF signal passing by.

If this works then job done, if it doesn't then the gremlins may well have some explaining to do.

Thanks... Sorry if I seem thick but would picking up RF signals make the indicators light up and stay on? I`m new to Range Rovers and just sampling the many delights of ownership....

I'm only saying this based on my own experience, I spent over 1K at the dealers trying to get a similar issue fixed but to no avail. It was suggested that I tried the above and hey, I've never had any issues since, I could have bought something useful with the money!
