Any home mechanic types on here use air tools on their landy, thinking of something like this
eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

Or is it too cheap?
Should I be looking at a brand name even though it's only intermittent use?
I figured it would be useful even for simple jobs like spinning the wheel nuts on and off.

its fine - normally i finf tho that the norze of powereing up the compressor just for a few wheel nuts aint worth it.

Thanks but mine is In the workshop and permanently installed, I use it in the plasma cutter and blow gun etc.

I'll look into getting one methinks.

ifi want to spin nuts i either just use the brace out the socket set or stick a 3/8 drive short extension in the cordless drill.

air tools are great for lazy people...........I have everything possible from my time in the trade and I always use them. Got a compressor from aldi and that is good enough for driveway jobs

Just bought a compressor from aldi last week, the tank is only 25l but it has a pretty powerful motor...and it was under a hundred quid.

They also had a few air tools going cheap such as a 3 inch grinder for £8.99!

I had one of them cheapo impact guns it last about 18mnths and then died. Thought that was pretty good for £20-30.

i got the compressor which is good enough, the grinder isnt that cracking, impact gun seems ok only tested it on a few wheel nuts though

Yeah, I wouldn't expect a lifetime out of a tool that cost £20, bit unreasonable, but for intermittent home use should give reasonable service.

just coz im a smartarse cheapskate i was considering getting an aldi compressor last time they were in but instead

i went on ebay and got a motor and pump for £30
a pressure switch safety valve 2 gauges and a regulator for £10
and a 4 foot gas cylinder for a fiver
built me own 300 ltr compressor
priceless !!! :D:D:D
