hi Guys been working away from home this week and and got a call from the wife car dumped itself onto its bump stops all round and wouldnt go up . i knew the rear bags were looking frayed so had bought some but didnt have time to fit them. anyhow she drove it home about a mile and parked it up so i gets home last night and decided to go to my unit and change the rear bags car wouldnt go up and fault showing on dash and all the lights by the switch flashing . i changed the bags and started it up car went up all round but we still have the fault showing and i cant adjust it all the lights by the switch flash and its in full up mode. so just drove it home this morning rear was down but not on the stops but like in access mode front was high. i drove it back to my unit and it went up but still shows fault i turned the suspension off and parked it my mate was down there later on and it was still even front to rear but lhs is slightly lower front and back any ideas do i disconect the hight switches and clean the contacts etc or is it likley not to be them and finally if i get to the bottom of it will the fault light go out itself or does it need to go on a machine . thanks Paul

Read Wammers bit in the How To section.

If you can get it to go up I'd do so and then disconnect the relay under the front seat and see if any particular corner goes down overnight.

If it stays up then back to Wammers how to and the compressor and valve block tests.

Bit vague there. By relay I meant the EAS timer relay under the front left hand (passenger) seat. Sorry. Think faster than I type.

If you have had a hard fault (35MPH Warning on display) and all lights flashing and lit....you need to get it on Diagnostics to clear the fault before the system will work properly.

PM Datatek, he can supply the Diagnostic lead and Software for around £11 plus the postage....

What's your location Paulisa? You never know, someone may be nearby with diagnostics.

Worth getting Datatek's fix though if you don't have any. Sooner or later you'll need it!

hi guys thanks for the help we are in redcar near to middlesbrough . yes we have had the 35mph warning and i will order the lead just a bit concerned i may cock something up messing with something i dont really understand i suppose i could always list the faults it comes up with and ask before i hit any buttons

thanks Paul

You can't do any damage just clearing faults. But do note them and post them.

If he has an hard fault all the lamps will be lit. Nothing will be flashing. He would have "EAS FAULT" on dash. "SLOW 35 MPH MAX" is not an hard fault it is just saying that car is too low or to high for that speed. Don't think i have ever seen all the lamps flashing. Usually after initial switch on all lamps will light to do self check, then height at will be solid and height to go to will flash, until that height is reached. Then flashing lamp will go solid and other will go out. As i say i can't ever remember seeing all lamps flashing. He needs to stick it on diagnostics maybe the ECU is having a Condor moment. Usual problem with something like this would be lack of air pressure.

All lights flash on mine when it soft faults and goes to wading height but there is no 35 mph message in that condition. The next stage is hard fault and the lights become constant and the 35mph message appears along with several beeps.

I have never seen all lamps flashing on mine. Maybe i have that to look forwards to. ;);)

Three times in a couple of months each time under the same conditions, I know the fault is the pressure switch now. Too bloody cold to fix it for the moment, I just carry the laptop.:)

quick update , went to the car this morning and its on the bump stops all round. started it up get the 35 mph thing flashing at me and eas fault all lights by the switch flashing and the dash beeping. car wont go up like it did yesterday i lifted the bonnet and no noise from the pump so i wired it direct to the battery it purs but the car didnt go up removed pump and put finger over the outlet guess what no air pressure so striped the pump and the plastic ring has a bit missing so need a rebuild kit where is the best place to get one . do you experts think when the pump is done she will finally behave herself

thanks Paul

Try symliseP38spares on Ebay. do not use the kit from the Dutch company.
You will still need to clear the faults before the pump will run:)

thanks Datatek i will order a seal kit now i may also get a set of valves so i can blow each corner up that way i may see if there is any leaks in the pipes or bags then when its all back together properly if it goes down it must be the valve block or something

Lack of air pressure. I refer the honourable gentleman to a reply i gave earlier. :D:D:D;);)

The sets of valves on Ebay are very expensive, you can make up your own, I used some secondhand valves from a truck tyre place which were free (my sort of price:)) and 4 plastic push fit airline connectors less than 50p each.:):)

thanks wammers you are rite you did say that was the prob . thanks datatek i will see if i can make up the valves thinking about it we use some 6mm pipe at work and may actually have the fittings time to raid the stores i take it if i blow the bags up like this its ok to drive just wont be adjustable

If it stays up it's fine, just blow it up until you get it to the standard ride height as per the "How To" section.
