hi, I was wondering if there was anyone that's knows Where I can get my air suspension recalibrated?
I have just had new sensors fitted and it is just started flashing up on the dash, every now and then "air suspension failure?" This only pops up after I have been driving for a while, but nothing fails the suspension stays the same.
I was just told the I need to get it recalibrated,
I live Mr Maidstone in Kent, and if there is anyone that could help? I would be grateful.

Model year would help....are you talking P38 or L322 ???

And yes, you will need it recalibrated if sensors have been renewed.

If it is a P38 you could try PM'ing a message to member on here called Datatek as he can supply the EAS Claibration software and dedicated EAS hook up lead for about £20......

There are a few members on here with the gear to help out so maybe on of the Kentanites will chirp up soon who maybe in your area and can help out.
 
Hi thanks for your reply. I don't know what model number it is, sorry I haven't had it that long. All I know it's a 2003 autobiography.

2003 is an early L322.....

P38 was the Second Generation from 1994 to 2001 and the BMW Derived Thrid Generation L322 was 2002-2005 and then the Ford Powered L322 from 2005/6 to 2013 and then the L405 from 2014.....

Datateks lead won't help you in that case, so you'll need either a dealer/indy garage or a member on here with the gear for the L322....cheapest option is the All Comms with is a great piece of kit available from the US by RSW Solutions....about £220 to £250 and will diagnose all the systems on the car, recal the suspension, change vehicle settings etc.

The nuts is the Faultmate which is in the £1000 region but will give you the ultimate control of the car.

There are a few members in the Kent area with All Comms who could help you out, maybe one of them will be along soon.
 
i have an allcomms but not tried re calibrating the air suspension is it straight forward Ant ?
I am a bit slow of the mark as got man flu :(
 
Hi, thank you for all your advice, I might have sorted the transfer switch problem? I was playing around with it yesterday, bit like a kid with a new toy, and for some reason all the warnings disappeared. How long for? Who knows.
As for the recalibration of the air suspension, I had a look on you tube and it's shows in great detail how to do it.
I live in a little village called West Peckham, which is just 5mins from Wrotham if that helps? But I don't mind coming to you.

It is best to cycle between Hi and Low every month or so to prevent everything sticking through lack of use. You have probably freed off the mechanism.
 
What warnings were you getting in relation to the transfer switch ? From memory you need to be in neutral for the hi/lo switch to work.
I have just tried running the suspension calibration but my laptop is having an issue and wont open anything with the CPU at 98% so need to try and fix that.
You are about 20 miles / 40 minutes south of me.
i don't mind trying it at some point but my only concern is if your suspension is not functioning properly you could end up driving home with your rear end stuck in high and your front end in low which would be embarrassing
 
EAS Calibration on the L322 and All Comms is dead simple....The Legend that is Storey Wilson has given two calibration options in the AC....Simple and Advanced

I have only used advanced as simple wasn't available when I did mine.....it consists of running the car with the doors open for 10 minutes or so to ensure you have a good air charge in the tank, then with window open, door close , All Comms on bonnet, no one in the car, tell it the size of the rims, press the calibrate button (or similar) the car rises to a set datum hieght, give it a couple of minutes to settle down as it does tiny adjustments for a while. Then using a tape measure, measure between the bottom of the wheel rim and the centre of the wheel arch and enter these mm measurements in the box....press the calibrate button (or whatever it is - working from memory here :D) and the car will settle back down to standard height and the calibration is done.

Dead simple pimple....

 
Sounds easy, I have managed to get the laptop to talk to me as widnows update was stuck using all the CPU so had a quick look, i think the advanced looks easier than the simple if you just want standard settings calibrated. He has added wheel diameter in as well which helps.
 
Hi as far as I know, all the warnings have gone, except when I have been driving a while it pops up that that there is an air suspension failure on the dash. Nothing changes with the suspension. I have just be advised that as it's had new sensors fitted and that it hasn't been calibrated, this would happen.

You are welcome to try my Allcomms if you like, where do you work during the week roughly as I'm out on the road or i am in now until about 6.30 pm tonight or possibly one night after work during the week although i am normally back quite late or next weekend from Saturday afternoon onwards, up to you
 
Slightly off topic but at the moment the Euro is our friend as a Faultmate is now around £800 for an early L322. Still a bit much for me but if you were looking to get one now would be a good time.
 
i am very lucky to have picked up a faultmate extreme for around £200 including the transfer fee and a new cable and it is a fantastic bit of kit and I noticed the Allcomms is doing more now with every update
