HI GUYS, just had a rear sock fitted £120.00 plus sock when i picked up the rangey (p38) the garage said its on full hight at moment it will drop overnight> also when i got in all four ride level lights were flashing with the max hight lamp on dash> that was four days ago, i contacted garage again to be told it needs a range rover garage to reset eas...... is this right ? if not how do i sort it

www.rswsolutions.com for the software or do a search on this site. or better still take it back to the garage that did the job, if they can only half do a job they shouldn't be taking your cash.
 
£120 for less than an hours work,probably damaged hieght sensor while changing it you dont normally need to plug test kit in after changing bag,get system checked and go back for a chat
 
£120 to fit one air bag is a rip-off
It took me less than an hour to fit my very first one.
Unless it's following an accident they should be fitted in pairs.
Now your garage is lying to you.

Tell the garage immediately that you are not satisfied with their work and give them the chance to complete the job, at no further cost to you or
You will take the car to a Land Rover expert and you will expect the original garage to cover any costs incurred

If you want to know what you're talking about then either by the software and lead off ebay, about £25, and read the faults for yourself or you could offer tea and some beer vouchers on here and see if there's anyone willing to read them for you.

Whatever you do - find another garage!
 
hes probably right it sounds like it needs a reset,
changing an air bag shouldnt cause the eas ecu any probs though, unless hes let the axel drop down with the eas powerd up and the air bag off, and caused an out of range fault.

and like jamesmartin said this can and probably has damage the hight sensor
you say all 4 lights and the dash light are on! is it not giving you a message on the display? EAS FAULT!!! SLOW 30MPH!!
 
I don't want to rub it in but I paid £100 to get all four fitted...
He's not a Land Rover specialist but he knows what he's doing, he told me what he did and he didn't touch any of the EAS electronics, he said there's know need to.

You may sort out the flashing lights by pulling out any fuses for eas -underseat & engine bay, or disconnect battery-make sure it's unlocked

Ask them what they cleaned and what they bled. There are 2 filters at the valve block and it is possible to drain the air receiver, but that's about all. You can't bleed air:rolleyes:
 
Bleed the EAS system?? Bleeding `ell, new one on me! As previously said check out "rswsolutions" site. If that site goes over your head, prepare for some big bills.
 
As previously suggested, it sounds like they're ripping you off. It didn't take me that long to do both of mine and I'm hardly a qualified mechanic. I didn't cause an air suspension fault either.

Their suggestion that it will go down is utter nonsense. If it does it means you've got a leak.

Sounds like your eas has gone into soft fault mode as a result of something they've done. A soft fault will cause the air suspension to go to full height and stay there. All your height lights will be on and you should have the message Eas fault displayed on the dash.

It will need to be cleared either by the rsw solutions software or some other diagnostic kit. They should certainly pay to have that sorted as they have clearly caused whatever problem triggered the fault.

The air springs should really be replaced in pairs - would you only change one coil spring on a lesser vehicle?

Anyway best of luck. Sounds like they know nothing about Rangeys and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near one!

blind leading the blind. get someone who knows rangies to go back there with you. offer the garage an opportunity to talk through all the steps of what they did. if its a load of waffle, tell them you're not convinced, you're willing to give them a chance to sort it out but given their show of poor faith till now you've half a mind for them to do it under small claims court and trading standards. see what comes of it.
