hi lads just an update with my air pressure problem on my p38 ,after struggling for two weeks with this problem and changing various components,, i was down near boston lincs for a weekend at my caravan, so i called into T.T.MOTORSPORT AT main rd bennington on the a52 just outside boston ..met pete the owner and he put my r/r on his diagnostic machine , well he did a full test thru all the systems ,and did a load of other checks and tests ,and i am now goin to change the temp gauge sensor in the centre of manifol so it looks like the sensor is givin out false readings so must be on its way out ,,, SO a massive thank you to pete and his man ,their both really nice people and easy to get on with and more than helpfull so if any of you lads in lincoln area are looking for a good ,priceright ,efficient-place to get help then THIS is the place to go ,,cant thank them enough ,well recomended,,not only by me but others who directed me to them ...much much better than any main stealers down that way ,,,give em a ring you wont be dissapointed ..cheers for now MOZZ:):):):):):):):):)

i never said it would ????????? what i did say is that i was getting false readings hence change the sensor , it was an assumption that there was an air lock as the gauge kept going high intermittently, so that is why it went on a full diagnostic check ,,ssssiiimmmppllleeesssss really ,as the meerkat would say ,,,but many thanks for your imput ,kind regards mozz ;););):):):)

How will the temp sensor allow air into the coolent?

it wont allow air in, but it will give a visual on the gauge that the engine is running hotter than it actually is. giving you bulls@@t readings and making you crap your pants at the thought of spending more money :D:D:D:D:D:D

Now I understand.
Yes that would be scary! Wish my over heating problem was that simple.
