im looking at a cone filter for the Freelander and was wondering if anyone had an idea of the inlet size i would need

What engine are you putting it on? I can't see how you could effectively fit a cone filter to the TD4.

65mm iirc? It's been a long time since I played with I assume is a 1.8?
You are better off fitting an in line filter with a cold air pickup as the under bonnet air is to warm to see any benefit from a better filter

Put a decent filter in the standard case is all that's needed
Oh and dump the cat

ive being reading different guides and they all seem to say the standard one restricts it and as im going to try get some more poke out of the thing i thought a cone would be better

Any type of free flowing air filter destroys maf's imo
