Can't just physically remove the built in security system..it's programmed and built in to the BECM and engine ECU.
Maybe the alarm and immobiliser functions have been disabled in the BECM..some poeple say "Not a bad thing!!!" in view of the grief they can give.
You say "It's not working now"...can you elaborate?..Did it work before??
have you heard of the EKA code?
first try re-syncing the key:
put the key in the door lock, turn to lock whilst hold the lock button on the fob, do the same for unlock!
Dead batteries in the key fob? Does the LED light when you press the buttons?
Hi razmrtwo
You haven't answered the questions really from Irishrover, Gavbriggs and Datatek. They're willing to help but only if you answer the questions they ask. Please read the questions first.
If your doorlock is stuck and you can't open the door at all, it will mean removing the door card with the door closed and operating the mechanism by hand.
Hi Razmrtwo
Ok. If your car has been 'superlocked' at any time using the fob and the passenger door has then subsequently failed to unlock, it will not open just unlocking the vehicle with the key in the drivers door. It will require the fob working to unlock it. If it isn't superlocked, it should unlock by pulling up the interior latch.
Can you start and drive the car normally?
Why doesn't the fob work? Have you tried to re-sync the fob?
If all else fails and the pasenger door IS superlocked, the only way you will get in is to removed the door card and operate the mechanism by hand. If you go onto the 'Green Oval' site, you will be able to download 'Rave' there which is the manual for the Range Rover
