I wonder if anyone could advise me i am purchasing a 57 plate. 110 (the van type) and i need to fit 2 forward facing seats and belts for my children,, however i need to know will this model have adequate mounting points for me to tap directly into or will it reguire welds or struts of any kind. many thanks

this is the type im considering as the cheapest ive found,

Land Rover Defender rear forward facing grey vinyl seats | eBay

i thank you for any advise.....

cheers adam

I just fitted a pair of forward facing scot seats into my 110.

Drilled holes in the floor, fitted spreader plates and bolted them down.

This is who makes them: Scot Seat Direct Ltd Home Page

They have integral 3 point seat belts so no seat belt fixings to worry about!

I got them for a bit of a bargain off Ebay for £100 :D

A (poor) pic of them in - situ.

Just need to line and carpet the back out now :)

its for your kids...

spend some money and buy the pucka ones, the lock n fold set they are pricey (around 600-800 notes

but what price the safety of your kids?

Harry's look like the seats out of a minibus? - they can be had really cheap on ebay if thats the route you want to go. They will want some good spreader plates etc though.

you might also want to consider the legality of it, dvla, and insurance costs.

might be cheaper to buy a csw instead of the van :)

I was quoted a reasonable price for insurance despite the rear seat conversion.

I am putting standard front seats behind driver and passenger and cutting the tub to make a footwell. We have some strenthening bars joining the outrigger to the front of the body tub to compensate for cutting the behind-seat bulkhead, and the CSW body crossmember. Seatbelt stalks connect to the same place as in the CSW, upper lap & diagonal fix to roof/side panel with brackets. We're waiting for the bespoke floor panels to be folded.

I'll let you know how it goes in about 4 weeks as that's which is when the engineer is saying it should be done.
