Don't know how much experience you've had with Diesels, so I'll assume
you're a complete novice and give you a hint a lot of people probably wish
they'd had.
Get it checked by a professional.
Diesels are VERY expensive to repair when anything does go wrong. If it's
been looked after by anyone with half a brain it's probably bulletproof, but
you don't want to risk it. I've been lucky with Diesels so far, but it only
takes a small case of overlooking something and you're up for effectively
the price of a new engine... and they aint cheap.
