But not sure about it all really.

Been sorting the garage and had all these bits sat in there since landy before this one, so rather than keep shunting it about ive decided to chuck them on and set too with fixing up the old girl a bit this summer.. paint included.
Problem is i'm indecisive and pondering where to get, and what to get next, as well as weather to add or leave off.

Here's where i was and what i've chucked on so far.

Start..

Just added: (but not fixed round top spots)

I need to change all the lower spots on roof rack, but could do with advice on what to replace with?.
Not sure about the round ones above.. but there just sat in garage and thought they might go ok up there to swivel round when i want to shoot out of side windows on occasion. happy to listen to other ideas folks.

The spare wheel is ratcheted down pretty tight, but wondering if it might stay up there or go on bonnett !! thoughts ?? also.. better ways to fix it and be safer would be useful.

The snorkel brackets have gone rotten and broken, so just cable tied right now and i cant find anywhere that supplies just the mounts. Any ideas on that?

Disappointed in that the jerry can holder will hold that jerry can, but not the black army water type as is thicker.. and that's what i needed it for, to give horse water at the events. He doesn't run well on diesel

I have a set of bush cables i might fit tomorrow, and will be looking out for wider arches in due course.

I have a new fuel tank and headlights to fit with HID kit, and am looking for a new colum stalk to get wipers working on intermitent, also a new motor and wiper arm for rear door as that's never worked.

Other than BURN IT, any other ideas what i could do?

I've had so many problems with this one that i kinda lost interest other than just abusing it, so trying to get enthused again.

Thats what i'm not sure about trax.
The vehicles going army green, chequer plate black and front pod black also. won't be as bad as now i hope.

would look a lot better if you painted the pod and chequer plate the same colour as the body imho

what about mounting a couple of spots on the bull/nudge bar instead of having the pod?

like the bar at the rear

I had a couple of spots on the front bumper previously, until 1 got cracked somehow.
Was going to move number plate also and get more air to rad as temp rises a bit when towing horses in trailer. Everyone i spoke to has stated i need to get more air through and the spots on bumper as well as plate and winch are restrictive. Also going to have rad re done with larger filaments.
She will run around all day at half on temp gauge or a touch less.. but put a horse and trailer on the back and the electric fan is just holding it at top of white / in black on guage.. and will get up there quick with a load on. Might even just angle the plate to push air up and in so to speak. Ive also added an additional electric fan inside behing turbo intercooler. Trying anything really.
The roof is also going black or green. would just like it looking a little less flakey and do use it a lot for shooting etc.. so want chuck it in a hedge look.

Where the wipers are concerned, don't forget the wiper relay. Well, its more than just a relay, as it has a printed circuit board in there too, but that's what people call it. I had unreliable wipers last year and worked my way through the system replacing stuff and got the biggest improvement from buying a new one. The old one fell to pieces in my hand as I attempted to remove it

Cheers for that Brown.. will try and locate / check that first. Where would i find it ?

CalumM.. just be sure to leave it as far over from opening door as poss without blocking lights. I thought i had until i put the rubber stay on the jack that holds the lever to the body.. then i found it stopped the door opening to the stay position, so had to take it off and move across.

Can't remember the location on yours. They kept moving it around. Mine's behind the instrument console as it's a TD5. Maybe yours is in the bulkhead fuse box behind the gear lever. I replaced my disintegrating Britpart item with a medium priced Lucas unit and everything is much more reliable.

Get rid go the pod, looks a bit...gash. Rest of the landy looks awesome tho.

I have a spare on the bonnet (and one on the back) and its fine to be honest (unless your very short) and certainly looks a bit neater than on the roof rack.

If your looking to get rid of the jerry can holder I'll take it off your hands.

Also, what are your high lift mounts like? thinking of getting the same ones, are they just as good mounted horizontally?

The mounts are good.. i'll look up the name when i get home. Im in a kids play centre right now. Roll on Monday.
I had them in a pack in a box in garage for last 4-5yrs along with the pod lol.

What do youn guys think to keeping the round spots on roof rack along with others as shown.

I was hoping the pod might blend more when its not such a hidious colour difference !!

The issue with the bonnet for spare wheel was more one of weight as they are 265's and pretty heavy.

Are your trying to build a paedo waggon :p

I think the spots are over kill if you're going to keep the other four lights. I love things that are compact and neat, so the pod ticks that box, but I just think it looks too alien on the front of a defender...

Thanks for the info on the mounts

I'm just trying to keep some sanity and get some work done. Mind you the noise here.. i might just take him back and sit in my office.

As others have said, not really keen on the pod! Other than that though, pretty sweet!
I keep my spare on the rack too. I use two small ratchets, just in case! I was given a ladder clamp yesterday, which I'm going to try (for the wheel) at the weekend, can't see why it won't work and I can lock it! I'm thinking of putting a spare wheel cover on as I'm a bit conscious of all that UV wrecking the ruddy expensive BFG on top!

Sounds like a good idea Bluedog.. i might even have one of them in garage hiding in a box. Keep me posted on how you get on with fitting yours.

It's sounding like most are anti the pod so far lol.
I'm not so keen in the colour it is currently.. but with a few little tweeks yet to come i'm hoping it will improve. Probably be off shortly though.

Done my back in so can hardly get off a chair right now, let alone do anything with the landy.
