I've not seen this covered and wondered if anyone can see a problem doing this.
As we all know, removing and re-fitting the drivers side manifold and heat shield is a right royal PITA, so I figured fitting them to the head first would be an easy option.......
problem is, the manifold flanges overhang and foul the head bolt flanges to prevent them dropping in and allowing a socket around them.
I ground off approx 2mm of the manifold flange to allow the bolts to pass. I can't see a problem as I'm only grinding off overhanging material anyway and it leaves the flange at least as thick as the gasket.
or am I missing/have I missed something?
