They might not have tapped the sensor back into the hub the whole way...
Unfortunately removing the sensor from an old hub can also make it hard to ever get it working again. ~ £50 for a cheapo replacement hub with sensor...
No clue why they'd unbolt it to replace a seal though, the hub and half shaft can be withdrawn right out of the axle with the sensors intact both front and back, the sensor just has to be unplugged from the loom.
