hi,guy's should the abs ,pump motor heat up,my pump,motor went on the blink,have been braking with spongy brakes,i have got one from scrappies,when i changed them over i noticed that it heated up quite a bit,i dont know if this is mean't to happen as i never checked the old one, when the car was running,and can you fix them.cheer's pat.

All electric motors get hot, most important thing is how long it runs and how often.

hi datatek,when you say it gets hot,do you mean mad hot,as in to hot to touch,cheer's pat.

The pump should only run every second time you use the brakes (approximately). It should only run for seconds to bring the brake pressure back up. I would suggest that you've got more problems.

If it's running every time you apply the brakes then the accumulator is knackered.
