Hi all, having abit of trouble with the abs on my 94 tdi, the abs keeps cutting in on a dry road when the brake is pressed lightly, its not all the time maybe once or twice aday. So can the abs be disconnected so i just have normal brakes? thanks.

you can pull the fuse out, this cause the abs light to stay on though and will fail MOT.

I suspect a faulty wheel speed sensor/air gap or reluctor ring

Take the bloody bulb out as well.

Is it normal for the abs light to stay on as you move off and then go off after a few seconds?

It should go out when you get to 7Kmh,it should also blink off for 1/2 sec about 2 1/2 secs after you go to key position 2 to indicate there are no faults stored.If it does not blink,there are faults stored.
