Had a problem with the ABS light so changed modulator and front passenger sensor.
Are modulators interchangeable coz garage said they had to swap electrical connectors on my second hand item

Passed MOT but now have problem with brakes. The anti licking comes on intermittently, even under light braking and I lose my pedal only just having some brakes.

Did bleed them using a pressure bleeder. good brakes, some anti locking for a couple miles then settles. Good braking etc. A few mile down the road I loose them again, anti locking etc. then they come back for a couple of brakings.

At rest the peddle is solid 1st attempt then next time goes soft.

All this and no ABS light.

Can any one help. Used 2 litres of fluid bleeding them so far

had a similar problem with my brakes. had a new modulator unit put in as my ecu failed and burnt out the old one. kept getting ABS kicking in on light braking, all sorted by going round and tapping the ABS sensors into their seats better, not done it since.

a garage did it, i'd say take it back to them but as you provided the part that's a problem. but why did they give it to you in that state?

It does sound like a sensor giving a faulty (but not bad enough to trigger failsafe mode) reading. Mine did the same so I pulled the fuse. I don't want the abs increasing my stopping distances anyway, damn thing's hard enough to stop as it is!

As it has 172000 on the clock I am in the process of changing the suspension and brakes, just not all at once
