Struggling to identify if my disco has ABS or not, would anyone be able to identify this from the following photos?

look on the wheel hubs. the air conn is missing tho.

ABS sensor goes thru front top swivel pin.

look to the pictures in this link http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/12058/STC3129-MODULATOR-ABS.html , if you can't find such thing in the engine bay with many pipes attached there's no ABS then

Doesn't look like there's ABS you'll know by turning on the ignition, if theres a warning light then you do have ABS if no light then you dont

i've seen several cases when the ABS warning was blanked by sellers especially to hide a fault

if it had abs the modulator would be between air filter and screen washer bottle ,yours hasnt abs

yeah... you can buy a well running non-ABS D1 cheaper

or one with working ABS and resell the ABS for more

What age did they start fitting ABS to vehicles? Was ABS ever an "option"?

"Was ABS ever an option?" Yes it was.
I haven't a clue on the 200 series but for the 300 series 1995/96MY ABS was only on the ES, for the1997/98MY it was standard on the 5door XS and ES, all the rest the 3 and 5 door models plus the GS it was an option.
