I checked the voltage at the Battery when the engine was running was only 12v present, I unplugged the Brake Fluid Sensor the engine spluttered very slighty and the voltage went back up to 13.8v.
I then plugged the sensor back in, Voltage remaind at 13.8 but now I get low brake fluid pressure warning again.
Looking at the wiring Diagram the Brake Fluid Sensor is linked to the becm, so I am assuming there is a fault somewhere with the becm.
Does anyone know how the brake fluid sensor works, it appears to sit parallel to the top of the resesvior in its own compartment not in contact in any way with the fluid, it looks like a tilt sensor/mecury switch.

If it's reading "Brake fluid level low" that is what it means. The fluid level sensor is detecting low fluid level. Fluid level should be topped up to max mark, after accumultor has been charged by pump. Fluid level will be well above max after car has be stood a while. That is why there is so much free space in the tank.
The Fluid is well above the max mark, once the engine has started and the pump has switched off.
The sensor doesn't actually touch the Brake Fluid so am a little confused on how it works.
Don't know what is internal to the header tank. But more likely than not a float that closes a magnetic reed switch. Disconnect it from the plug and see what you get, then bridge the pins and see if it goes out. That will tell you if internal switch is knackered. Brake fluid should be no higher than max mark after pump stops.
