:( Today i sold my 2001 Range Rover and i feel lost without a car. I know i the past i have bitched about the cost of repairs and how often it goes wrong, but it just got to the stage where i really wasn't prepared to spend any more so its gone. I must say to anyone thinking about selling, good luck cos the market is absolutely dead. Mine was on AutoTrader for 6 weeks with not even 1 phone call so eventually i sold it on ebay. Thanks to all who have given me advise in the past and hopefully one day i will be back.

The market for 4x4 gas-guzzlers is not at it's best at the moment. I only bought my late '99 DSE a few weeks back so that was good news for me, but for every happy buyer there is normally a disappointed seller.

Did you get a price you were happy with on eBay or was it just a case of shifting the car and moving on......?

Brian ('99 DSE with all the silly extra trim bits)

Unless it was something really special, £5k is probably a bit over book so not too bad a deal really .....

Good evening sir, might I suggest the excellent Freelander TD4 as the ideal replacement.

no offence mate, im sure its very nice, but im not buying into any more money-pits. on reflection, i think i done bloody well to get what i got and sad to say its cheapo car for me now. as much as i love these cars i really dont have the time or know how to repair them so,for me, they are just a big money hole. it seems a lot of people on here can do their own repairs and im soooo jealous.

Some nice Discovery's about I'm sure 5K should cover one, looking at a lovely V8 earlier just under 6K on a V plate.

,i paid 2500 for my 99 p38 4.0 auto with lpg full electic leather s/roof h/k sound nokia b/tooth very clean in and out got 120k on clock fsh all bills mot,s etc so to me i got a bargain dont know weather its to do with the market or just had a touch,

its a cheap car just to get me around for a while. i will be back to a RR at some point but at least im not working just to keep a car going (just an ex-wife  :) )

Taxiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii:D :D :D
just to let you know i put £30 of petrol in my 'taxi' last tuesday and it still got 1/3rd left so by my reckoning im about £30 better off already and my insurance has halved and no blasted repair bills. as much as i loved my RR i most certainly aint looking back. i think i might spend my savings on a spray tan......what do you think?
