Is replacing this a job for an enthusiatic amateur ?? Any advice

Piece of cake, look at Rave if you have a problem. You will need to get it re-gassed afterwards. Took me a couple of hours.

Yep,thats fair comment unless the alloy pipe nuts are corroded or some Tw-t has cross threaded them.......

Go for it! you can get a condensor on Ebay for about £70
