So once again my A/C belt has gone AWOL?? (3rd belt)

First time was becuase the belt was too long 4PK855 but no idea why the last 2 have come off 4PK480

anyone else had this problem? did you solve it? ignore RAVE and tighen it more or loosen it off?

or am I just going to have to get used to not having A/C??
 
Get the correct one and fit it properly, if you lose that one you really do need to be looking at the compressor.

Thanks wammers and I am getting the correct one? 2 sizes are listed for the 2.5 and it doesn't matter as both will fit you just move the tension wheel as it can be located in 2 different locations.

I have just recently replaced the pump as my original was knackered :-(

everything is in line - but I just don't know why this keeps happening??

anyway, new belt on order - lets see what happens

When you fitted the new pump you did of course make sure it was charged with oil. There has to be oil in the dead side of the pump as well as oil in the refrigerant.

I've had similar problems of belt throwing. Read this thread for where I'm at so far with an alternative belt size.

Next likely cause is a non-concentric pulley through the crankshaft damper. I've heard new pulley's are expensive and it doesn't look a breeze to change so I've fingers crossed the stretch 830/850 belt keeps working.

I'm going to give this one last shot as I've already ordered this belt, but if or when it comes off again I will be following your route
