It hasn't leaked all the oil out of the gearbox has it?? 
Get it running and take the upper level plug out of the gearbox sump. When running it should have next bugger all come out as it should be at optimum level.
Use a cable tie bent on the end and dip it into the sump.
If no joy at all. Top it up while running until the oil runs out of the level plug.

gearstick moves at it should , just not putting it into any gear.
just noticed slight grinding when going back into park

gear box is turning then but if if it grinds in park theres a break in the drive train t/box, diffs,props
Has somebody pinched your propshafts? Or the transferbox in neutral?
