Normal road driving, auto has naff all engine braking, but under 30mph you can persuade it to slow. Low box, no problem at all.

So Brakes are what you need if you're daft enough to drive on tarmac

It been done, in other forums for five pages and the result, is it's all down to personal pref.
With modern Landrovers other than the Defender I believe you can now choose.

LOL, yeah nowadays it may be more down to personal preference and what I think, but I'd still choose manual over Auto every time!

OK chaps thanks for the help. So the concensus is - If it has an accelerator cable, it will be OK
