Got a bit close to a Transit in a country lane and smashed the drivers side mirror glass, ordered a replacement from Paddocks no problems, question is how do I fit it, or is there another piece between the mirror and motor tilt drive ?

The new mirror came complete mounted on a black plastic backing frame with heater built in

Done a search but can't find anything relevant, any guidance appreciated

Mirror sticks to a backing plate (which you've got) which is in turn attached to the motor via this clip.

No worries, when fitting it, place one side into it's holding location then with palm of hand press mirror and it should click into place.
