Does anybody own a 1995 4Runner and has towed more than 7000lbs with it?

I know it's only rated for 5000lbs but I'm told this vehicle can handle it
no problem, as long as I don't travel the country with that load.

Thanks

Depends, does it have a 3.0l or 3.4l v6? If it's an early 95 with the
3.0l then it might do it if you put 26" tires on it and get a good tail
wind.

I recently bought a 95 4Runner 4x4 V6. I haven't towed anything with
it yet but my manual says the total trailer weight (trailer weight +
cargo) must not exceed 3500lbs. The tow package (hitch mount & frame)
may have a higher rating but Toyota is saying only 3500lbs. Be
careful.
