Waiting for the ribbing then hopefully some advice!

First post so be gentle!
I have a common problem that I hope someone wiser than me can help with.
I have a '94 disco VIN starts with MA. No keyfob for the immobiliser, suddenly develops an intermittent fault on unlocking with the key, sometimes it immobilises, sometimes it doesn't, always unlocks no problem, then you get dash lights but wont start, no clicks or nothing. Sound familier?

So, I take out the central dash facia to look for the ecu as read on the net, not there! I found the black central locking ecu in the footwell passenger side, and my question is does this also control the immobiliser?? or am I still off the mark. Please help

you can get a replacement fob from these guys Land Rover I bought one for mine over a year ago and it works perfectly.
