I know I can go to my service people but, I wonder if you guys would know what could cause a judder while pulling off? The clutch seems fine so I was wondering mounts or something?

You can get what's called resonating vibrations, at certain frequencies the vehicle can shake, I get a vibration at 28 in 4th, could be just one of those things? Has it only just started happening?

It's been doing it for a while, it only happens at pull off. The car only did 1600 miles between mots, so I was hoping for a simple fix as I will put up with it.

As you have mentioned, check gearbox and engine mounts. We recently bought a discovery with a 2 inch lift and it had a horrific wheel wobble, wasn't the lift causing it, was a loose engine mount

check the change in your wallet, with all that rolling around it could cause the rumbling sound :)

Uh, there ain't no change in my wallet! As mentioned it is a judder, a shake felt throughout the car, things rattle. If I raise the revs to say 3 k it doesn't do it but It would make me look l could not drive.

Symptom could point to oil on clutch plates caused by worn rear crank oil seal. Check for oil under bell housing. Yeah, I know, would be odd if there wasn't.

Thanks I will take a look, if I "burnt it off" by riding the clutch for a few minutes, might give an idea. I guess what I'm trying to avoid is the " it's the clutch, oh no it's not that, it's blah blah blah". Having got rid of a p38 with suspension problems, that I spent £1800 on fixing that still wasn't fixed! In the end I made a four way manual up and down switch arrangement, left front up a tad, rear rh down a tad, sorted.
