hi i have a 2007 puma defender truck cab but i was after a commercial van back really, my landy popped up cheap and i couldnt really refuse the deal. i have had the pick up now for about 4 months and still want a commercial van back. i have seen plenty of projects where people convert a van back into a truck cab/pick up but not the other way round.

has anybody converted a truck cab 90 into a commercial van back 90 if so how hard is it? or do you know of any companies/firms/individuals that could carry out such a conversion?

the only hard part will be finding the new shape roof, side's,an back door. you could put older ones on but it would look a bit of a botch job

ahhh bollokkkks didnt think about that! goin to be a night mare to get hold of newshape back roof and sides aint it!

It's easy to do, an hour or 2s work and 2 of you to lift the roofs, but you'll struggle to get a good roof, especially a new one, and when you do find one it'll be dear as hell and will sell straight away probably. Good point is that a good straight new truck cab is worth about 4-500 quid so you can sell your old roof and get some money back!

It's a simple conversion and takes about 2 hours, the only modification you will be needing to make is drilling holes for the rear door hinges and lock mechanism.

All other connections ( on the windscreen, crossmember ) should be the same.

I did the conversion a while back and as said its pretty straight forward. You will need to use sealant where the screen meets the roof.

You will need a similar year as it'll look pants otherwise.

thanks for this guys :) much appreciated, just looks like i have to find some puma sides roof and back door  looks like this is going to be the tricky part
