Have any of you ever had a cracked manifold ? and if so what were the symptoms ?

I have just bought one and the guy who sold it to me thought that it had a sticking valve (and it still could be that)

It starts and runs fine and you can rev it fairly hard and it's fine, but put it under load and after a few minutes it runs like a bag of nails at makes about as much noise as gang of panel beaters.

Can you successfully repair a cast manifold?

Can you see a definate crack in the manifold?a might be wrong but am sure a cracked manifold wouldnt sound as ruff as that ?

have you removed rocker cover and checked all valves are opening fully push rods can bend and also punch through follower

Have started stripping the front off this morning prior to lifting the engine out so I'll be taking the rocker cover to have a look.
