Hi there every one, id just like to pick your brains if possible. I just bought my wife a 55 plate Freelander Sport td4, and a noise has started humming from a little black box just behind the O/S/R wheel, its kind of secured to the chassis leg?? and it wont let the engine rev over 3000rpm? ive had it at work on a diagnostic machine and its come up with Fault Code 4704 FUEL PREDELIVERY PRESSURE SENSOR -Incorrect Function. -and says below, The primary pump delivers fuel to high pressure pump. The sensor is regestering the amount of generated pressure. If too low, preformance decrease is the result. So could someone let me know if its the part thats noisy that is causing this problem and what part do i have to replace to rectify this problem. Id like to thank you for your time & help in this matter. You never know, you may need me one day. JFT

replace the fuel pump.

lets look at the facts: fuel pump is noisy, the engine won't rev over 3000 rpm and the fault code reader says fuel isn't being delivered under enough pressure from the tank to the injection pump...

while you're at it, replace the fuel filter as well.

Oh, and use a genuine fuel pump as the aftermarket ones are poop

I ordered my parts from landrover & they come on Wednesday, so cant wait to get them fitted :D CHEERS

good luck with this, not a particularly hard job, just be careful about snapping the earth tag off when you dismantle it, there's been a fair bit about it on here.
