hi i have a td4 53 plate that seems a bit lacking in power and torque,i have changed the decompression filter,all the intercooler hoses,the MAF,but its still the same,i am going to clean EGR next,does anyone no of anything else i should check,also kicks out a little black smoke when accelerating!!! ps the tapets seem a bit noisey to!!!

Air Filter, Fuel Filter and Plenty of Injector cleaner, Other than that you have done most common

thanks shutty,already done the air filter and injector cleaner cant seem to find the fuel filter thow,changing the maf filter was a tricky little **** of a job but i enjoyed the challenge in a weird kind of way!!!

Clean out the EGR and block off the vac pipe to EGR unit

go -ped ,have you checked the vacuum pipes, they are prone to wearing holes in them,causing lack of system vacuum, and no vacuum = no turbo boost control, best way is to remove them one at a time

go-ped,
vacuum pipes are black rubber approx 8mm diameter , get underneath and look at the turbo boost control valve, you will see 3 vacuum pipes on the solenoid valve, also check the small filter dangling down , and also the vane control actuator rod , make sure its not stuck

thanks john,will have a go at it tomorrow if it ever stops raining and blowing a gale,will let you no what i find.
