Hi all, I've got a 90 what has +2" lift springs and +2" shocks,it also has QT3 cranked arms from and rear, it has extended brake lines already fitted too. I'm wanting to put +1"blocks under my springs and fit +5" shocks(brackets),
i know its been done but has anyone done this on here?
so any info / pics /problems etc etc would be appreciated.

my reason is i have fitted just 285/75/16 fedima siroccos on mach 5 wheels and there is a bit of clearance issues (just slightly)

+5 shocks wont help clearance you need to either change bodywork or longer bump stops. Giving more travel will only fowl the body more
 
yes i know the +5" won't do anything to help clearance but i was also going to put 1" or 2" blocks under the springs which I'm thinking would?
I already have extended bumpstops on the 90.
I'm not keen on a body lift I'm honest.
Also i could fit my tyre's to some modulars as i think the offset on them will sit the wheels
in a touch more compared to the mach5's.

If you fitted lift blocks you can get dropped shock mounts to put it all back in place, but remeber your adding more angle on your arms and prop with each lift which causes problems.

Body lift is a pain on a 90

Trimmed and extended arches would be easiest probably.
 
ive got 37 inch tyres on mine with +2 inch springs and 20mm blocks under spring seat, and have way more clearance than your 33 inch tyres, looks like your springs are standard ht, or sagged considerably
 
Regarding body clearance, only way you'll solve that if you've already got extended stops would be to start trimming your arches - or get even bigger stops! The blocks will help in a way, as the springs will have to compress further to get the wheel in the same place as without the blocks - but wouldn't be sure if it is enough without trying it.

Are yours +2 heavy duty as well ?
 
my springs are +2", fronts are heavy duty and around 4 years old, rears a the lightest heavy duty ones and are around 2 months old.

as far as trimming arch's go i think its the 285 width which is the problem, not the overall diameter size, so what parts of the arch do you exactly trim?
 
QT flexi arches or similar would probably help. They come out horizontally so have more clearance. If your tyres are fouling on the tub arch then trimming that back a bit will help.
 
I'm running same tyres as you but on steel challengers and a 3" lift, 2" springs front with 1" block and 1" springs rear with spring sliders that lift it 2". 16" travel shocks rear and 12" front.

Rear tyres clear the arches but I've trimmed them, and only full stretch the rear tyres touch the inner tub floor but only just.

And offset 35"s didn't work at all on flex just hit the arch and tub straight away,
 
Sorted.
Fitted new Terrafirma +5" shocks with relocation bracket on rear, also fitted new +2" front springs so all suspension is new, and I fitted 1" spacer blocks under the springs, then I trimmed my arches very slightly.
I only had a quick test tonight on a bit of a back and all works good and does not catch anymore(well nothing to worry about anyhow) so I'm happy with it really.









 
Britpart springs are good. Been on my truck for 3 years and can't fault them apart from the paint peeling but that's bound to happen
 
ya ive had them on this 90 for around 3 year and can't complain! just renewed them seeing as though everything else was new and shiny.
