Any one know a fair mot test centre in telford area that can do 4 wheel drive brake tests?
surely they should all be capable of testing any brakes presented for the class of vehicle they offer tests for, irrespective of the type of vehicle or drivetrain.
if they don't have the rollers, a tapley tester is an acceptable alternative.
Or is it just a brake test you want ?
Sorry I mispelled yor name M8. My tester., of 20 years, use the brakes on the way in "you can tell if they work"I always use a Decelerometer on 4x4's never use rollers (all testing stations have to have one), how ever some modern systems have counter rotating rollers for 4x4's
Advisary, what was the problem with tour brakes??Sorry I mispelled yor name M8. My tester., of 20 years, use the brakes on the way in "you can tell if they work"but they are fair, if it is a FAIL it fails but anything else is a cautionary. Even a decelerometer would not have found my brake problem but a good look did

Yep they all have to cos not all cars can go on rollers and if the rollers pack up they need a way of checking brakes, I hope they know about the landy hand brake, they probably do, cos if they pull it up to hard they can rip it off the back of the gearbox.Didn't realise they all had to have a tapley, ah well there's a few local to me I can try, cheers for the replies
It was only a minor problem http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f37/how-lucky-livers-what-furck-omfg-competition-fred-98154.htmlAdvisary, what was the problem with tour brakes??
I witnessed my local cheap MOT place testing the handbrake on a disco - I could of slapped the T**T ( wasnt mine btw ) , he ragged it across the yard and yanked up the hand brakeback end bounced around and made a hell of a noise . I was tempted to hand him a brush to sweep up the transmission - Twot .
This is one of my mot nightmares, I've got the first one soon, what exactly should they do with an ageing 4x4 like a disco?
