Please note: In some circumstances the compliance checker may not provide the correct compliance status for your vehicle. If your vehicle is less than 3.5 tonnes and was registered with the DVLA between July 2000 to January 2002, please call us on 0845 900 1234 to check the compliance status of your vehicle.

was speaking to one of me mates who works in haulage. Apprently the filter needs regular checking. If the turbo spits diesel through it or similar it needs replacing at a cost of approx 1500 quid on his wagons.:censored:

Now we know why the price of petrol vans & camper vans inside the LEZ have shot through the roof,
and the doosel ones are as cheap as chips!
If there still there.

Did you get caught driving in London then. Do they give you a warning letter first.

It all depends on what your vehicle was classed as when it left the factory, ie commercial or estate. If you have a defender then a lot of them were classed as commercial.
I am a member of SLSLRC (South London and Surrey Land Rover Club), our meeting place is inside the LEZ and we have a few members who've had this problem, but most have sorted it now, by getting their vehicles re-classed

What do you reclass it as.

How did they get them reclassed Zan as my mate has a jap import and its registered as a utility vehicle and hes tried everyone to try to reclassify it with no luck ?

You have to get it re-classed as an estate vehicle

I believe you have to get onto the DVLA, it's not the simplest of processes, and involves a lot of letters back and forth from what I can gather, but you get there eventually

Yeah you get a warning letter with 28 days from said letter to comply or feck off.
Phoned them to see if they got it wrong as its my CAR not work van and they said NO but couldn't really give me a reason?!?!?

No windows in rear, any seats in back? If not its a van. Even if have rear seats cant get it reclassified without having windows. Hard top, truck cab are commercial vehicles to dvla/tfl

Back on topic, what time does the meet start? As I could do a breakfast run to Ace Cafe but would need to be back by lunchtime!
