hi all i have a 58 plate defender on the 4wd selector it has hi, low and diff lock this is totally different to my 300tdi defender which had 4 high 4 low and 2 hi is the new puma defender constand 4wd or have i missed something cant see 2hi many thanks ian:doh:

All Fenders are permanent 4w/d,

Should both be the same - same set up for all of them, high and low then to the left for diff lock. They are all permanent 4WD, what you described sounds like the selectable 4WD found on most pickups...

Only if it's hooked up to a series gear box and transfer box. Coil sprung landrovers (90/110/defender) are all permanent four wheel drive. The selector lever gives hi, neutral and low gears with difflock over to the left

my 1993 300tdi had a 2wd selection as in my avatar good to have fun in with just the rear wheels spinning

only if you buy a free wheeling hub kit ,does involve a mod to center diff though

Lol yours must be a Bodge-it Barry job or its fooked if you have a 'fender that can go 2 wheel drive! (without taking proppies off)
