I ordered a new cam shaft from Island, my existing cam didn't have a colour mark on it to tell me whether it's a 4.0 or a 4.6.

Island told me that they are both the same.

I've fitted the new cam and I'm trying to sort the timing, I've aligned the marks as per the manual but the engine doesn't rotate easily, it feels like it's compressing when it should be exhausting.

Could it be that the cam lobes and timing is different between a 4.0 and a 4.6?.....could I have the wrong cam?

Thanks

timing will be the same but when your compressing on one your exhausting on another and the rest somewhere between marks should aloign with tdc on compression stroke no1 cylinder
