Hi all!

This happened on the day it was meant to be going for it's MOT after a 6 month rebuild.

Engine was running and has always started fine hot or cold but seemed to run out of fuel as it started to chug and eventually stop.

Fuel gauge reads half or just under but added for fuel to get it to three quarters full. Bled the system from the filter, return from injector pump and the injector tops. All seems ok and fuel is more than present. Replaced glow plugs and do get a current on each one.

Still won't start tho, the immobiliser is fully diasabled and I have checked for a current at the stop selonoid where there is 12v+ and the selonoid clicks when the plug is re attached.

Do you think the stop selonoid could still be the issues based on how it packed up?

Got to get it going asap as I need to MOT, fix anything they fail it for (it shouldn't fail as everything is new) and get it to DVLA sheffield for a VIC check on Thursday coming.

Many thanks for any help in advance,

Jon

Undo the fuel filler cap, sometimes you get a vacuum and that can crush yer tank.

Right then, tried bleeding again today and noticed the diesel at the top of the injectors looked more like milky water!!

Contaminated by the looks of it so drained the tank a good 50l worth, emptied and cleaned the sedimenter (same stuff in there too and a few lumps of crud) changed the fuel filter and blew back the lines with the compressor. Lift pump and injector pump as much as I could.

Put new fuel in, about 20l worth and bled system again. Got him cranking over with still no success and guess what?!?

THERE IS STILL WATER IN THE SYSTEM!

How the hell is that going on??

Do you think it's just the injector pump holding onto it as it's coming out of the return pipe?

I give up guys.

theres a whole pump full to use up first before the claen gets through if its got a fresh supply then it will run clear eventually
