Hi yet again. After my timing belt went and rebuilding the broken parts im ready to set the valve clearances. However as everything has moved and rocker shaft been out and every rocker replaced where do i start from?

At the moment the engine is a No1 TDC would I be correct to set these two valves to the 0.2mm clearance and use these as a reference for the rest?

Help would be great hoping to use the car this weekend. Cheers

Rule of nine, number one valve down set valve eight, number two valve down set seven and so on. Number one valve being the one at front of engine.

Mybe iv not had enough sleep. How do I know No1 is down as the rocker shaft has been stripped down and replaced so at the moment all the rockers have lots of play. None are set up.

watch it move when the no 1 rocker arm has stopped moving down toward valve and adjuster part of arm has just reached its highest position ,set 8 ,2 down set 7,3 down set 6 ,4 down set 5 ,5 down set 4 ,6 down set 3 ,7 down set 2 ,8 down set 1 ,they dont occur in that order ,and if you go past just reached fully open go on to next one ,mark each set valve as you go so you dont forget which is done

Yeah must have been lack of sleep. As soon as I went back to teh car realised I was being daft. All running great now she lives on! Untill next time
