Hi all,
I decided to sell my Disco td5, and buy a defender, the question is on a limited budget, would I be better off with a late 300 or an early td5.
Owning a td5 for 5 years or more, I am aware how smooth they are.
But command more money, are the 300 as reliable (in Landy terms),
your views are welcome.

Depending what you need it for .. I think most people would agree that the 300 is more reliable. The td5 has little more grunt .. and flaws. I have a td5. If I were to buy a 'new' one today:
#1 .... a 300tdi if I was going around the world on my dream overlanding trip.
#2 ... a td5 if not. The td5 is great and by my opinion reliable. But - I also know that during time I will probably face some of the known issues. And in general - there are less 'known issues' on the 300tdi.

#3 ... a 2.2. 2012 .. if i had the money.
