I am wanting to replace the standard steering wheel on my 95 300tdi with a leather one, something like a Mountney or that sort of thing. Everywhere I have phoned tells me one is not available but I am sure I have seen them fitted in the magazines etc. My current wheel is the usual 4 spoke original. Can anyone confirm Ive been told the right thing or suggest an alternative?

I'd be interested too as my wheel is knackered.

forgot to say its a non-airbag wheel.

you can get them mr noisy has one fitted to his disco check out his thread on his disco..

Just fitted a wheel from a Rover 100 1.4. Fits a treat and is about 2 inches less in diameter, just what I wanted.

Only possible issue is that wheel doesn't sit quite as far down the column as the stock wheel which means that the nut won't wind on quite as far. Will probably need a touch of locktite on the threads but will have a look again at the weekend.

No idea about cancelling the indicators as the cancel mechanisn was fooked anway, so at least I'm no worse off!

try using something like this mate and then you can fit a wide range of after market steering wheels.

abit pricey but if thats what you want then there should be some cheaper one's on the bay

Thanks for that Short Round.

Will see how I get on with my 5 quid Rover wheel, but the link to the 95-04 boss could well prove useful.
