Hi all, for the last few days my 300 tdi has not been starting very well! It seems as though the diesel is feeding back overnight or when stood for a few hours.Once it has been started it runs as though its on 3 cylinders but then clears itself and seems to run as normal although the tickover is very slightly uneven.Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!!
i dont think mine has a MAF due to it only being a 94 manual 300tdi as it hasnt even got the position sensor on the top of the pump.Does anybody not think it could be a leaky injector coz when your moving it runs spot on and doesnt smoke and it is only affecting the starting after being stood for a while and also the revs are slightly up and down on tickover?

it's worth checking if the plastic leakoff tubes are a very tight fit on the unions, they tend to get brittle with age
injector sealing washers also get brittle and can give the impression that it's time to get yer feeler guage out or that the brake vac pump is on it's way out - has the IP ever been played with to your knowledge ?
but do the easy simple things first
perhaps but only for a very short time (10-20 seconds) - and any GOOD 200/300 wont need the use of the plugs to start
