A strange problem I have come across with my new disco 1 300tdi, I brought it two weeks ago it, when I brought it idled at about 950rpm but it hadn't run for a couple of months and just thought it was cause it was cold engine, but I've noticed that now runs at 950rpm all the time, when you finish turn it on its starts fine no smoke and idles at bout 600rpm then after bout a second or two the revs increase on there own to bout 950. I've done a gasket change in the manifold and rocker, stripped the intercooler and pipe work done cleaned it all out and put it all back together with new clips but doesn't seem to of done anything. Was just seeing if anyone had any ideas as to what or where to start looking,

Have you thought about checking the idle screw or timing ?

ill have a look at it later on at it see if changes anything,
I did think it could be timing but the belt was changed 30,000 miles ago and would of thought some one would of picked it up by now, but thanks anyway
