Afternoon chaps.... Advice needed please, I decided to change the bearing in the fan belt tensioner pulley ...this was duly completed and thought I'd also change the serpentine belt too... also completed , I'm on a roll ....started her up and all was good n quiet ahh bliss ! no more chirping Cicada type sound
then I noticed the new belt was trying to throw itself off.....bugger !
I had just changed the alternator so presumed it was a pulley alignment issue but then discovered that the pulley wheel on the PAS pump was wobbling about due to the fact that of the 3 bolts that should hold the pump in place, I only had one and that was working its way out also
The casting had broken on the the tapped bolt holes of the pump so I have ordered another one
is this a common fault ?
My question is, is this just a case of undoing the hoses on the existing pump , are they under residual pressure ? plugging them while I swap the pump over and refitting them ? will I need to bleed it or add any more PAS fluid if so what do you guys recommend.
Any help much appreciated
Cheers
