is there is a sensor in the manual gearbox on an L reg 300tdi? i know that on my auto td5 it wont turn over unless its in N or P, but is there a similiar sensor on a manual? sometime it wont turn over unless you wiggle the gearstick? any ideas?
think thats just coincidence i would check for loose connections on the starter if i was you! there are no sensors on the manual box to stop it from turning over. a manual will still crank in gear.
Next time it happens don't touch the gear lever just try starting it with you foot on the clutch pedal. If it is a starter motor cable problem then it still won't start, if it's a gearbox internals problem then it will start.
