Right, so a few weeks ago I fitted the winch with minimal alteration to the auto gearbox oil cooler. I basically re-fitted the mounting brackets from the front of the panel to back which then allowed the winch to fit nicely in place.
Problem now is that the winch almost completely obscures the oil cooler and noticed the base of the gear selector getting very hot as a result the now restricted air flow and subsequent cooling effect.

Has anybody experienced this problem before? What did you do about it?
Is it simply a case of getting extended pipes and mounting the oil cooler higher, (if so - who makes these pipes?) relocating it completely or upgrading the oil cooler itself?

Am disappearing to work in the next hour or so, so thanks in advance for any helpful replies. :tea:

Rather than start a new thread, I'll simply ask the question on this one as it's related.

I've noticed a 2 spade temperature sensor on top of the gearbox oil cooler pipes - see bottom of this pic:

As you can see, this sensor currently has no plug running from it, so it's obviously been disconected for whatever reason at some point in the past.
If anyone has a 300tdi auto and knows whereabouts in the loom I can expect to find the plug, can you point me in the right direction please.

Much appreciated.

Just looked at mine it goes up into loom on left hand side of the air box just behind the red air bag sensor

Cheers for that. Just had a look and still can't see anything obvious.
I've a feeling it's been tucked up somewhere behind the washer bottle at the time the inner wings were replaced.
Will delve into it more next weekend as won't have chance in the week now.

No worries I'm still trying to find egr cable mines gone AWOL !! If you ave any probs I can trace mine bk and tell you where it's from :D
