Hi all

Something broke last night on my 300tdi auto. I though it might be a cv or half shaft.

For an hour before it happened I had a faint clicking like a cv joint on right turns. Then on a roundabout I lost drive. Got it in diff lock and limped home at 20.

Checked it this morning. Jack up each front wheel individually and each span when in park and in drive. Also the prop didn't spin when turning either wheel.

I lowered the car then started the engine And put it in drive. The front prop was turning but the wheels did nothing.

At this point I thought the diff had gone but when I tried to move it from the 1 hour parking spot, the steering wouldn't turn right. It would lonely go centre and left.

So this made me think that it was actually the right cv joint failed properly and broken up resulting in the steering getting jammed going right?

Any ideas?

Only had it 3 weeks and it's our first landy >_<

That's good to hear.

Just a little worried that both of the front wheels span without turning the prop when individually jacked and spun (with 3other wheels on the ground)

But a landy/agri mech I spoke to said that sometimes that can happen when just a single cv goes?

sometimes ?if one cv is broken it will do that
