as long as you can fill one of the cooler pipes as fast as the other empties you can swap all the oil,you will use more than box holds in any caseI would like to completely drain my gearbox ATF and replace it with a high temperature fluid like Redline. Does anyone know how the box can be completely drained other than taking the vehicle to a transmission specialist?
My LR main dealer and the independant I use now some times has a machine that changes all the fluid via the cooler pipes in one go I wouldn't be supprised if some cleaning fluid went in as well, for the £150 it costs, Ive never there of course and so never seen what happens, but I expect its on the www if your interested.
So what's the specifications on this Redline stuff? Dexron lll?

alternatively, would a larger, well placed oil cooler be better?
you need to start engine and run through gears with foot on the brake at least once so clutch pistons get flushed /t/c will be flushed at the same time as box is, you do need to be able to get as much oil coming out back in, otherwise keep switching off whilst filling catches up,Thanks JM, So I suppose I would need to extend the cooler pipes at the cooler end and put one end in a drum of new stuff and the other end in a drum of some old stuff with room for a complete flush. What then, is it a case of just starting the engine, or navigate through the gears with foot on brake?
Will it take all the ATF out of the TC?
Is this something that you have Done before?
I must admit I have never found anything on the web that gives a detailed "how to".
