Whilst under the 110 noticed a threaded hole with nothing in it!

Is there supposed to be anything fitted in this space?

A plug if you intend on wading. Would need to fit a breather higher up too!
Looks like you have a leak like my 300 haha

Yes it has a bit of a dribble...hence why I was having a bit of a gander....noticed this threaded hole with a sign of the leak around it...thought it might be something missing causing the leak...obviously it is intended to remain open unless wading...

That is your timing case drain. If the oil is coming out of it, your front crank seal has gone and needs to be replaced soonish, before the oil gets onto the timing belt and damages the engine.

Oooo....Will check ASAP.

Did the timing belt on the girlfriends 200Tdi last year....assume it is a similar process....wasn't esp. difficult!

- mine looked a bit worse just after purchase, and it was the sump....... it was loose

!!

300 is easier as no need to disturb water pump etc.
