nope, buy a diesel mate.
its the same mantra for every engine swap:
if the car is available off the shelf with the engine in it which you want, sell yours and buy the one you want. zero work and minimal pounds (compared to what it will cost to change everything over to diesel)

sorry, to reiterate, think:
fuel tank and filler needs mod
gearbox input shaft is different
you need a vacuum source for the brakes
plus lots and lots more considering i dont know much about diesels!
afaik it just aint worth it when you can buy a diesel off the shelf...

obvious,y there are lots of variables mate, like a fully custom v8 offroader, it aint worth swapping all the bits onto a diesel.
but theres probably a lot of decent diesel out there, and i bet youre undersetimating the amount fo work to convert to diesel.
perhaps someoine could advise you better though. as above, my thoughts are its easier to find another car - then you know it's all working!
